What is the Domainyze MCP server?
The Domainyze MCP server lets an AI assistant work with the domains you monitor. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard assistants such as Claude, Cursor and VS Code use to call outside services. You add one address, approve what the assistant may do, and it reads your watchlist, portfolio, DNS and alert history on your behalf.
It also gives the assistant the domain tools: availability, WHOIS, expiry, age, SSL, DNS, propagation, email deliverability, typosquats, name ideas, bulk checks and punycode, on any name. Those calls spend lookups from a monthly budget shared with the REST API: 300 a month on Pro and 1,500 a month on Business.
The assistant can read and add. It cannot change settings, pause, move or remove anything, so a misled assistant cannot undo your monitoring.

What can I ask an AI assistant about my domains?
Plain questions. The assistant picks the tool, calls it with your account, and answers from the result.
"Which of my portfolio domains expire this quarter?"
Reads your portfolio with the expiring filter through list_domains, with each name's expiry date and SSL status.
"What stage is example.com in, and when will it drop?"
Reads one watched name with get_domain: its lifecycle stage and drop forecast, as the dashboard shows them.
"Is DMARC set up correctly on my main domain?"
Reads the stored zone and email authentication posture with get_dns_zone.
"Are any of these ten names available?"
Checks names you do not monitor with bulk_availability or check_availability, spending lookups.
"Add these names to my watchlist."
Starts monitoring up to 100 names in one call with add_domains, using your account defaults.
"What changed on my domains this week?"
Reads your alert history, newest first, with list_alerts.
Every tool the server offers
An assistant only sees the tools its approved scopes allow. This table is read from the server itself, so it is the full list.

How do I connect Claude, Cursor or VS Code?
Give your client the server address. It discovers the sign-in on its own and opens a Domainyze approval page in your browser.
-
Claude (web or desktop): Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, then paste
https://domainyze.com/mcp. - Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code: add the server as shown, then choose Authenticate or Login next to it.
- Approve on the Domainyze page, which names the app, each permission it asks for, and where you will be sent back.
Access refreshes itself while you use it; an assistant left unused for 30 days signs in again.

Why an assistant can read and add, but not delete
Some of what Domainyze returns is written by other people. The tool set is shaped around that.
Read and add only
An assistant can read, add names and request a check. Changing settings, pausing, moving, regrouping and removing stay in the app and the REST API.
Third-party text is data
WHOIS remarks and DNS TXT records can carry instructions aimed at an AI. The server tells the assistant to treat them as data, and no tool it could be talked into is destructive.
You approve every app
The approval page names the app, lists each permission in a sentence and shows where you will be sent back, before anything is shared.
Scopes decide the tools
A tool outside the approved scopes is not listed and cannot be called. An app that only reads never sees add_domains.
Only your domains
A name you do not monitor reads as not monitored, whoever else watches it. Billing, tokens, alert destinations and other accounts are never exposed.
Disconnect in one click
Settings lists every connected app. Disconnect one or all, and access ends immediately.
Who asks an assistant about their domains
Anyone who would rather ask a question than build a filter. Each links to the full workflow.
Domain investors
Drop huntingAsk which watched names are pending delete, when each is forecast to drop, and which alternatives are still free to register.

Frequently Asked Questions
For whoever is connecting the assistant.
Does Domainyze have an MCP server?
Yes. The Domainyze MCP server is at https://domainyze.com/mcp. Add that address to Claude, Cursor, VS Code or any remote MCP client, approve the sign-in, and the assistant can read your monitored domains, DNS and alerts, add names and run domain lookups. It is included with Pro and Business.
Which AI assistants work with it?
Any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP with OAuth sign-in, including Claude on the web and desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. A client that can only send a fixed header can use a personal access token instead on the Business plan.
Is the MCP server on the free plan?
No. The MCP server is included with Pro and Business. On the free plan the sign-in page explains this and offers only Cancel; the dashboard and email alerts stay free on 5 domains.
Can the assistant delete or change my domains?
No. Its tools only read, add names and request a check. Changing settings, pausing, moving, regrouping and removing stay in the app and, on Business, the REST API.
Do I need an API key?
No. The client discovers the sign-in from the server address and opens a Domainyze approval page. You approve the app and its permissions there; there is no key to copy.
What are the limits?
The server accepts 30 messages a minute per account. Scans and domain tools spend lookups from a monthly budget shared with the REST API, 300 a month on Pro and 1,500 a month on Business, reset on the 1st of each month. The whoami tool shows what is left.
How do I disconnect an assistant?
Open the API and MCP tab in Settings and choose Disconnect next to the app, or Disconnect all. Access ends immediately, and deleting your account disconnects everything.
